Here's The Story....

Man alive I have been a horrible blogger lately- it's been 3 weeks, really? My how time flies.

So my in-laws just bought a house in their neighborhood as an investment property, and we moved into it this past weekend- hoping this will be our last move for AWHILE!

It is a fantastic house that was built in 1971- all it needs is some TLC and a few updates.

Now, when I say updates I MEAN updates- Darrin and I call it The Brady Bunch House.

Awesome. Who doesn't love the Bradys?

Here a few examples:

The original stove-still works!

The front doors- SO RETRO I LOVE it!

We found a few treasures they left behind too- I'm keeping all of them. So great.

Brillo pad holder- so 70's!

You open this and it is a key holder. So groovy.

And how cute is this?

Love it.

And here is my ABSOLUTE favorite room- it is so 70's I think it is the greatest wallpaper I ever did see. It's not going anywhere.

Well, that concludes my 70's tour. All this Brady style is wearing off on me- makes me want to go cook and clean for my man.

HAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you the funniest part! Our street name?
You guessed it..... BRADY STREET!

My Favorite Angel

I thought my first post from our new life in Savannah should include a picture from one of my favorite places here, Bonaventure Cemetery. It is one of the the most beautiful, peaceful places I have ever experienced. A few days ago I felt the urge to go visit.

This Angel always draws me to her....

She calms me.

If only she could inspire me to start blogging again.

Just sitting here waiting for some inspiration.

Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.

Goodbye Mayberry

I can't believe it has been 16 months since we began our new adventure in Mayberry USA.
We will never forget the beauty and peace of the Loess Hills- but life pulls us in a different direction right now and we are headed back South to Savannah, Georgia.

OF COURSE we had to move during record low temps ...

seriously?

Thank God Darrin rescued my favorite garden gnome in time to go on the truck....

So what will I call my blog now? Loess Is No More?
HELP!

Stay tuned for tales from a new chapter........

A New Year

I took this pic the day we left Mayberry for the holidays.
I stole a quote from A Bun Can Dance to go with it.

Life is too short to wake up in the morning
with regrets.
So, love the people who treat you right and forget
about the ones who don't.
And believe
that everything happens for a reason......
if you get a chance - take it;
if it changes your life - let it.
Nobody said it would be easy....
They just promised
it would be worth it.

I Need Your Help!

Here is my last entry for 2009 and boy is it a doozy, so here goes.

I have started an online store where I am selling postcards of my photographs for only $2.50 each.

Why you ask?

Well, we are moving back to Georgia (Savannah) where Darrin has better job prospects and contacts to get back into his old field.
We have bills/expenses piling up and no money coming in right now.
Formula and diapers are EXPENSIVE.
It is pretty much a nightmare.

I need your help to spread the word to your friends! If all of my contacts let all of their contacts know about MY POSTCARD STORE, and each person orders just one postcard- it's possible that thousands of postcards could be purchased....because the power of the Internet is an amazing tool for reaching endless amounts of people! It's possible right? It could happen!!

If you guys have any requests/ideas for different postcards you'd like to see in the store please let me know, I will be adding more each day.

I wish all of my Blog family a Happy New Year and here's to better luck in 2010!

The Chicken Has Arrived!

Henry Morgan Dodd arrived on 11/17/09 at 12:27 pm weighing in at 8lbs/12 oz and he was 21.5 inches long.

His hair weighed in at 3 lbs.

Banjo and Pete are a little scared of him, but Olive said she thinks he can stay.

This baby birthing business was a little exhausting, but hopefully I will get back to blogging before he is in kindergarten..........................

Happy Hall☻ween Y'all!

As the very talented Lola Nova recently put it, "Just playing around whilst awaiting my muse. She's gone missing and I can't do a thing without her."

That must be what has happened to me too!

These last weeks of pregnancy have sucked the CreAtIvE right on out of me.

It pretty much hurts to walk, sit, stand, sleep, move, breathe.......you name it.

So since Halloween is usually a fun day for me, I forced myself to try to do something 'fun' today in the spirit of it all.

Note To Self:

Never fly to Atlanta for shoots at 7+ months knocked up again.

Totally exhausted!

But my Bride & Groom were just adorable.

And I did have fun seeing my friends while I was in town too.

I'm just going to block out the part where my airplane seatbelt wouldn't buckle.

For realz.

The next round of submissions for the Hallmark Card Contest starts next week!
