Random Thoughts

SO I've been meaning to post this picture for awhile now- this is how Darrin labeled his little tub of oil he uses to cook chicken wings in.... cracked me up to no end.

Now what's even funnier to me is how much 'Henry's First Boatride' hairdo reminds me of the chicken drawing above.

Good stuff.

Carolina In My Mind

Henry and I are visiting my Aunt Bonnie in Asheville for a few days.

So far Henry has met a goat named Durbin, played with 10 Aussies and a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and relaxed in The Big Ivy River.

Life Is Good in Carolina!

♥ POPS ♥

Today was a sad day as I learned of the loss of a very special friend, Tom Sr.

You can read more about our friendship with Tom, Tom & Big Headed Bob RIGHT HERE.

It's rare in life to cross paths with someone that results in an instant friendship, but if you'd known Pops you'd get it....kind of hard not to fall in love with him!

I can guarantee that Pops is striking it rich up in that big casino in the sky right about now!

Tom & Tom you are in our thoughts tonight as we raise a glass and toast you both this evening......

Pick 'N' Grin

Daddy teaching Henry how to play guitar. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get much cuter than this.....even when he (henry) spits carrots.

Hey, Hey, Hey!

I know, I know, I KNOW my entries are few and far between here lately but I blame it on the kid. Who knew a tiny human would take all of my attention? I just don't have the time, energy or interest anymore to find blog worthy things.

Today's item came from a picture text that Hubby just sent to me- it's some art on one of the schools nearby. I can appreciate the historical figures and understand why they would be of importance in educating our youngins' on World History and all.....

...but WTF is that behind Obama? Looks like one of the kids from Fat Albert!?

OY.

Chalk It Up

Always a fun Savannah tradition is the annual Sidewalk Arts Festival- SCAD students and alumni get some chalk and a square and compete for prizes....

The festival seems different now that I am an 'adult' though, back in the day when I was a drunk student it seemed just a bit more entertaining. Of course, if you'd told me back then that someday I'd be almost 40 checking out the squares with a newborn - I'd have totally flipped you off.

LOL.

I'll Tumble 4 Ya

Yesterday was a BIG day..... my human son rolled over all by himself!

We celebrated by driving to the beach to say hello to the ocean.

We even saw 3 dolphins. It was the perfect day.

I spotted this in the paper today:

Kind of gives you a little bit of hope for the world, doesn't it?

Over There?

Even though I lived in Savannah for 5 years during College and have been back for about a million visits since then, there are lots of touristy things I never experienced.

A Dolphin Tour is one of them.

Since my friend Beth is visiting this weekend I decided to finally do it.

Here is her boy Alex ready to see some dolphins!

Here's Beth.... "is that one?"

Nope, not a dolphin Beth.

"is that one?"

Nope, not a dolphin Beth.

"those"

Nope. Pelicans.

"over there?"

Ummmm no. Those are idiots fishing on a jet ski.

"THAT?"

NO!

"There's one!"

YEP! We saw ONE dolphin appear for a second. So lame.

All these years wanting to do a dolphin tour and I see I haven't missed much!

Still had fun though.
