Divine Intervention

It's been one of those weeks where my Grandma Ruth has been all around me.
Plus she has been visiting a very dear friend of mine too..................sounds nuts I know, but it is amazing how this woman can still send us advice from the other side.

Here is one of her drawings with one of her favorite quotes.

plus an awesome little photo from 1928 of Grandma with her beloved students.

Man alive, I am still so honored to be her Granddaughter that sometimes I can't even believe that I come from her blood........it just doesn't seem possible.

Sadly I don't know when I will be inspired to blog again, so I wanted to share something Grandma wrote to me years ago with my hundreds of followers only fan, my mom.

She really was amazing, wasn't she??

Family Tree

We are back from Atlanta and Henry and I had a wonderful time visiting friends and family.

Speaking of family...... have you ever tried to get FIVE cousins ages 3 and under to sit still for a group photo? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Ummmmmmmmmmm.... IMPOSSIBLE!

But hilarious.

Yeah, the one in the middle is the fruit of my loins.
What's your point?

OK- FIVE is asking a little too much. what about just THREE?

OK THREE is a stretch......how about just TWO?

Come on, TWO cousins? Seriously?

Piece of cake!

Hey Di, YOU SUCK!!!

You call yourself a photographer?

Can you at least just get a cute shot of just ONE cousin?

OMG.

Apparently I can't.

I

GIVE

UP!

Can you believe she left me in charge of her laptop?
OK, gotta go now........naked poodles are calling.

10 in 10 for 10 - Day Ten: Temptations

As visions of cheeseburgers danced in my head, I couldn't help but wonder how many people had already broken their 2011 resolutions.
So on this final day of my 10/10/10, I'd like to pay tribute to a few things that make us weak.

I know, I know. You expected my 10th day of pictures to be super fantastic.

So did I.

You're disappointed.

Me too. But at least I finished.

And I skipped the cheeseburger.

10 in 10 for 10 - Day Nine: Round And Round

It has been cold and rainy and gross making it super hard for me to finish the last 2 days of my 10 day photo project. So I loaded up little dude and drove to the dreaded mall for the only idea I could come up with for today.

Day nine of my 10/10/10 is Henry's first carousel ride.

Ophiuchus My A**!

Today I am in mourning.

For I have learned that I am no longer a Gemini according to the New Zodiac Chart.

I was so upset by the news that I was unable to focus on photography today.

All I could muster was this shot....

I must rest now so I may have the strength to return tomorrow and continue my 10/10/10 project.

I’m on the outside.
I’m looking in.
I can see through you.

Day eight of my 10/10/10 is all about windows.

10 in 10 for 10 - Day Seven: Ideas From Heaven

The idea for day seven of my 10/10/10 came to me while I was sleeping last night- what about things that were either made by or belonged to Grandma Ruth? She would have loved that!

PS-sorry for the cheesy rhyme in the title but I just couldn't help myself.

Miss you Grandma! ♥

Sweetlordbabyjesus oh how I hate the cold!

So day six of my 10/10/10 is dedicated to the winter blues.

Day five of my 10/10/10 is brought to you by the letter "R".

10 in 10 for 10 - Day Four: Music Makers

The idea for today's 10/10/10 transpired over a friend's place.
Try to find 10 musical instruments in 10 minutes.
Done.

10 in 10 for 10 - Day Three: Rub A Dub

Day three of my 10/10/10 involves me and my little man having some good, clean fun.

10 in 10 for 10 - Day Two: In The Ghetto

Day two was a little more exciting for me.... I decided it would be fun to head to the ghetto for my 10/10/10.

***Disclaimer- All photos were taken from the safety of my car ~ LOL.

10 in 10 for 10 - Day One: Six Feet Under

In 2011 I would like to get back to blogging a little more, like I did when we were in Mayberry.

This first project idea came from Lola Nova who was originally inspired by Nancy of Fledge.

It's simple.... Take 10 photos in 10 minutes for 10 days.

No editing.

Just walk/see/shoot/look/post.

I can do that right? The hardest part will be posting photos without editing! Which is why I will only be using my little point and shoot- that way I have an excuse for crappy pictures.

For my first day I chose a cemetery down the road that we walk to every day when I have energy.

So, with my top photo being number one, here are the remaining nine.

FUN!

I Like It On Top

Who doesn't?

So I've come to the conclusion that 2010 was an extremely non-productive year for me, and I'm OK with that.

Basically I achieved 2 things:

1. I somehow managed to keep Henry alive for for an entire year, which is a pretty big deal considering I have never even been able to keep a Chia Pet growing for that long before.

So Kudos to me.

2. I had the highest score on one of my favorite blogs- "Along Life's Highway The Yard Art Game". Lord knows if there is anything that will always bring a smile to my face it's Yard Art- the tackier the better. Luckily my obsession with winning the game gave me something to do other than change diapers and do laundry and watch infomercials and mix formula for 365 days.

PHEW.

Thank you Life's Highway for making me take my camera with me more often in 2010!

And thank you Lola Nova for inspiring me to the first creative photography challenge of 2011....I will be posting very soon!

The Manger Heist

This was supposed to be my Christmas post.
That didn't happen.
Better late than never right?

For Henry's First Christmas we crashed the nativity scene at our local City Hall and placed him in the manger when he was only 4 weeks old. It was adorable.
Kind of wrong I guess, but adorable nonetheless.

This year I thought it would be fun to keep the tradition going with Henry @ 13 months to see how much he has changed in a year.

But he did not quietly sleep in the manger for us this time, instead he knocked over Baby Jesus in his attempt to silence Mary.

That's my boy.

Happy New Year!
