I Need Your Help!

Here is my last entry for 2009 and boy is it a doozy, so here goes.

I have started an online store where I am selling postcards of my photographs for only $2.50 each.

Why you ask?

Well, we are moving back to Georgia (Savannah) where Darrin has better job prospects and contacts to get back into his old field.
We have bills/expenses piling up and no money coming in right now.
Formula and diapers are EXPENSIVE.
It is pretty much a nightmare.

I need your help to spread the word to your friends! If all of my contacts let all of their contacts know about MY POSTCARD STORE, and each person orders just one postcard- it's possible that thousands of postcards could be purchased....because the power of the Internet is an amazing tool for reaching endless amounts of people! It's possible right? It could happen!!

If you guys have any requests/ideas for different postcards you'd like to see in the store please let me know, I will be adding more each day.

I wish all of my Blog family a Happy New Year and here's to better luck in 2010!

The Chicken Has Arrived!

Henry Morgan Dodd arrived on 11/17/09 at 12:27 pm weighing in at 8lbs/12 oz and he was 21.5 inches long.

His hair weighed in at 3 lbs.

Banjo and Pete are a little scared of him, but Olive said she thinks he can stay.

This baby birthing business was a little exhausting, but hopefully I will get back to blogging before he is in kindergarten..........................

Happy Hall☻ween Y'all!

As the very talented Lola Nova recently put it, "Just playing around whilst awaiting my muse. She's gone missing and I can't do a thing without her."

That must be what has happened to me too!

These last weeks of pregnancy have sucked the CreAtIvE right on out of me.

It pretty much hurts to walk, sit, stand, sleep, move, name it.

So since Halloween is usually a fun day for me, I forced myself to try to do something 'fun' today in the spirit of it all.

Note To Self:

Never fly to Atlanta for shoots at 7+ months knocked up again.

Totally exhausted!

But my Bride & Groom were just adorable.

And I did have fun seeing my friends while I was in town too.

I'm just going to block out the part where my airplane seatbelt wouldn't buckle.

For realz.

More Captions Please!

The next round of submissions for the Hallmark Card Contest starts next week!

I can enter 2 photos geared towards Mother's Day- one being a "card for moms" and the other being "a card for friends who are moms".

Help me with a witty caption and win a print of your choice if I use yours!

They are accepting submissions Oct. 5th-18th so we have some time.

Looking forward to your captions!

I might disappear from Blog World for a bit because I'm getting ready to head to Atlanta in a few days to shoot my last wedding of the year- my last wedding before I become a momma!!!!

Crap, that last sentence just gave me a panic attack.

New Caption Contest!

So BHB told me about a Hallmark card contest- right now they are taking entries for 'Birthday For Him' cards. Help me come up with a funny inside caption for the card and win an 8x12 print of your choice from me!

Deadline is September 20th so we need to hurry.

This isn't one of my best shots but it's all I can think of for a man card.

The next contest is for a Mother's Day Card- I think my monkey shot will have a good chance at that one!

{Simply Simplify}

I just received an email informing me that my photo of Biscuit the llama was featured in an Etsy Treasury today- FUN!!!

The email said, "Your item was one of those that made me smile."

Which made me smile.

I took this while riding the Manhattan Ferry in September 2000, not knowing then that it would be the last time I ever saw the Towers.

The quote below I borrowed from my friend Jessie:

"Remember the unity we felt as a nation the next day? We can honor those who lost their lives best not by "remembering" the tragedy...but by "remembering" the feeling of unity that prevailed and how it strengthened us."

Chicken Stuff

I found this for 10 cents at a garage sale a few weeks ago:

it totally cracked me up as did some of Chicken's latest onesies from friends & family:

From Kelly:

From Mom L:

From Susie:

From Cheryl:

Ahhhhh, laughter IS the sunshine of the soul- don't cha' think?

I do.

I am also in love with this flying pig rattle from my friend MAK:

And check out the fabulous sock monkey my friend Amanda made for him!

Now if he would just hurry up and get here to see all of his loot- only 91 days to go.

Stuck On You

You know the saying, "Oh come on, she's harmless. She wouldn't hurt a fly."

Doesn't apply to me.

A Little Birdie

We've had some great weather the past few days- today was in the 60's so OF COURSE we had all the doors and windows open.

Somehow a little bird found his way into our living room, so Darrin scooted him out to the deck and he just sat there and stared at us instead of flying away.

He even let Darrin pick him up.

So cute!

I love him!

Even Banjo didn't freak him out.

He hung out for about 5 minutes then took off.

And that was our Sunday excitement!

Passing Wind

Today Darrin and I went for a drive and ended up at the Tower Of The Four Winds.

"This 44-foot tower in Black Elk-Neihardt Park stands as a memorial to John G. Neihardt and Black Elk, the Lakota Sioux holy man. The tower features a mosaic that depicts Black Elk's message of peace and unity for all people. Along a paved walking trail, mosaic markers continue the "theme" of Black Elk's vision."

Very cool and almost as fascinating as what we saw on the way back:

Um, what?

Why Yes Mom, I Did See A Barn Quilt In Sac City!

This one was my favorite.

I just can't get enough of Barn Quilts.

Not nearly enough.

PS- BHB- this is a barn quilt. It won't keep you warm. LOL.

Jiffy Pop

I know it's hard NOT to be jealous of my celebrity-like lifestyle, but try to stay strong people.

I woke up this morning and felt the urge to take a drive and ended up in Sac City, IA- home of the World's Largest Popcorn Ball.

That's right....the time has finally come....together at last.

And if that wasn't exciting enough, next door was a cute old schoolhouse.

We all know how I love old schoolhouses.

And an old post office.

With leather post cards!

And some random dinosaur artifact?

Fun stuff!
