Chortle Worthy

Today Darrin and I were craving some unhealthy food so we headed to the grocery store. Nothing crazy, just some hot wings. Well, um and some Ruffles. With ridges. And Queso dip. And Tostidos were 2 for $5 so we HAD to get 2 bags because it was such a deal. And some french onion dip too. And for some reason I grabbed a chocolate bar at checkout. Anyhoo we hung our heads and emptied our cart at the checkout counter. And of course our young, adorable, tiny, checkout girl said, "Cool! you guys are having friends over and watching the game tonite?" as she scanned our items.
To which D replied, "yeah, we're watching a game. It's called the 'Whose ass can grow fastest' game."

That totally made me CHORTLE on the inside.

So far I'm ahead by a Ruffle.

The Lays Ruffles (vegetable) were BUY ONE GET ONE FREE, I grabbed two containers of real sour cream (dairy), and two packs of Knorr Vegetable soup mix (veggie medley). The Honey Roasted Peanuts were on sale (protein) and so were the chocolate-covered cherries (fruit). When my Dr asked me about my diet, hey I'm covered.

Indeed a Chortle worthy day. You did grab some rather janky objects, though...I would have gone for the cheeze whiz and Ro-tel, fritos, Mickey's Big Mouth beer and some nice pork rinds to finish it off. Tasty treats.

I LOVE the word chortle (thanks, W - you know who you are!!!) so I will admit I am chortling, but on the outside. My cat, Emma, is looking at me strangely. I, too, was at the store late this afternoon and brought home some Lays that were also 2 for one, so it was financially sound. Plus they were lightly salted - good for my BP. Oh, and (pretend I'm whispering) some Little Debbie fudge brownies. BTW, what ballgame could be worth watching when Florida already stomped FSU yesterday?

OMG!! Would you please send those velours for me?? I just gained 10 lbs reading this. I thought I was a comfort food junkie (soon to be discomfort food) but you two make me look like a "Piker". (HA! that's a word I dug out of the archives.) Do you either one know what it is? Oh well, go on, eat all your comfort food. You will need the fat to get through an Iowa winter!

After reading this and laughing out loud, "D.M." pulled me by the pant leg and made me take a walk.
