Careful What You Wish For....

We all know I've been feeling a little mopey lately.......wishing for some sun and warm weather.
Well, today we had a heat wave of 47 degrees!!!
So OF COURSE we went out for a Jeep ride-why wouldn't we?
Ahhh, the sun on our face....

the wind in our hair....

not a worry in the world.............

UMMM....until we FLIPPED THE JEEP...and this was the first thing I saw...

that's right... the first thing I saw upside down...
was Darrin suspended over me by his seat belt!
I was trapped under him, but got loose and crawled out....

I know you're asking,
"Diane, WHY would you take pictures during a crisis like this?
WHAT the F@#K is wrong with you?"
Well, in my defense, I had already tried to free him and his seatbelt was stuck...
so for an instant I had a true Kodak moment and I took it!
Calm down, of course I freed my hubby.

LIFE IS GOOD ?

Now THAT'S funny!

It's official.....

You can take the REDNECK out of Georgia...
but you sho can't take the Georgia out of the redneck!

So it's kind of funny now that I look at the pics-but not really. We walked home and I cried like a baby the whole way....blame it on the Cyclone if you will....but I'm starting to think that our Loess Hills has something against us city folk....please sweet Iowa---PLEASE don't make me go back to Atlanta. I promise I will be good from now on........

Oh, my poor baby! Are you sure you're both OK? I take it the doggies stayed home? Uh huh. I've told you about flipping the Toyota Land Cruiser in the sand dunes in CA 37 years ago. Thank God you were in a car seat! All were safe.

Now, you know what Grandma would say: "This, too, shall pass!" Get right back on that bucking jeep. Love you!

Oh have mercy! Are you two alright? I don't remember Coney Island having a ride like that.

Being from the Northwest, I know that a little sunshine can go to your head. It should come with a warning: Until you know how sunshine will affect you, do not operate any heavy machinery.

Goodness gracious! I hope it wasn't the udder pictures going to your head! I'm so glad you're both safe, and that must be a good plug for seatbelts, otherwise you might have been less OK.

I'm thinking in Atlanta, when you did get snow, it was not this bad, and it probably melted quickly.

Here, driving on snow is an art form. Driving on dirt roads covered in snow (with ice underneath) when the sun has made the top surface begin to melt...is to be taken very SERIOUSLY!! But I think you know this now. And four-wheel drive on wet snow (with ice underneath) is about as effective as teaching a fish to ride a bicycle.

And what? You want a baby? Are you nuts? First of all, you definitely have to quit smoking forever and ever. No drinks for 9 months (groan). Then this crying, whining, noisy, smelly thing comes out (with much pain) and turns your life upside-down, so you no longer have time to do the things you want to do, and it is completely dependent upon you, for years and years and years (I'm an independent soul, that aspect truly disturbs me) and then there's the cost of having one....

Just get a sheep. Much less hassle. And nobody arrests you if you leave it in a fenced in area to fend for itself.

Can you tell we are not big fans of children? Sorry...it's just us.

The way Jeeps are built, they easily flip over. Get rid of the Jeep.

Only use the 4X4 to get out of a spot, but don't stay in 4X4 when you're on a slick road.

You city slickers need to slow down on slick roads. You're lucky you're not paralyzed this morning from a broken neck. Both of ya, need to go to a Iowa Defensive Driving Class - For the Transplanted Who Yet Don't Get It 101.

I'm with Claire, let everybody else put all that money, emotion, and time-sucking into raising human babies, I love the fuzzy babies.

D & D Crash & Bleed Team. I just looked at your blog this morning and I am still trying to digest your latest stunt. As soon as I do, rest assured Mother Nature will definitely have a bit of advice for you. Right now your friends are doing a pretty good job of expressing some of my thoughts. I just tried calling your house and I am real sure the calls are being screened!! Where is that jeep now? I think I need custody of that for the winter months. I was frightened riding in it on those muddy roads, remember? Snow?? Ice?? Now wonder I have grey hair!!!

glad again you are okay!!!

hey-
if you want to die alone and not leave your footprint in this world once youre gone, then by all means do not reproduce, but I think your grandma and mom know what I am talking about!! people seem to forget kids do not stay children forever, hence US!!I think you would be a wonderful mom and nothing in your life would change except for the better..I,E..no smoking or drinking, but everything else, take that baby with you wherever you go!!
I love you and when I see you next Im gonna smack you, then hug you lots!!

Hmmm…glad that both of you are OK. I see a pattern in D’s driving. A change in drives may help. Do you get reward point for using AAA? D was very young when he left the frozen north, at times I forget how long ago that was…and then, well twice now he has reminded me that it was long-long ago. I have also had my run-ins with Jeeps, mostly dealing with ponds and rice paddies. Don’t give it up just get smarter. As far as children go I say bring them on, you can handle it. My boys are my best friends and always have been. The key is to always be involved in their lives. O and the best part is when they grow up and produce grand kids for you. Drive safe!

Grace Ann is the best thing that has EVER happened to me. I didn't become a mom until I was 44 and would not trade it for anything. There are lots of kids that need good homes and God already knows where and when yours will come. It's already planned, you just have to believe it. (Hard to do, I know). Even with all the years of pain, tears and unknowns, there is nothing like the joy of her hugs, kisses and saying I love my mommy!

Don't ever give up your dream!

I am so glad that you are all okay! You are very important to us... please be careful... and as for the baby.. I knew you wanted one since the first time you told me. Stop ur whining and bitching and moaning and self depreciating and do the work and have one. I know you will be a great mother I have always known that...
have some faith in yourself you are wonderful. mh
