If It's Not One Thing... It's Your Mother!

It's been over 6 months now since we moved from Atlanta to our new home in Mayberry Onawa, Iowa.
Honestly, the only thing about Atlanta that I miss are my friends and family.
My mom has been threatening to move out here for a few months now, but Darrin and I tell her that she is not allowed to invade our new town.
The truth is, we'd love to have her move closer to us.
Now, when I say move 'closer' I don't mean 'MOVE IN TO OUR HOUSE', but 10-15 miles away would be an acceptable distance.

LOL!

So, here's a little rundown of what happened last night:

I drank some of this stuff
...

which made me a little
...

and miss my mommy...

so I called her..............

and asked her if she'd like to move to Onawa when her Atlanta lease is up.......she of course loved the idea.

WAIT...........WHAT???????

It's true.
Mom is going to move to our little Mayberry town this October.

OMG. What have I done???

Was that D's comment? I think it is wonderful! At least you won't make her move into the storm shelter-that isn't 10-15 miles away! Mom L, have you started packing?

that's awesome. Someday, I would like to know here first name 'cause she is a big part of our blogging community. Why doesn't she start a blog? Hurry up MomL. Oh no, another crazy Iowa blogger.

Hey, D - YOU WERE ON THE CALL!!! Don't play the innocent! Don't worry, I'll be nice - I'd love to live closer to you guys and my granddogs.

Yes, S.B., I was a little worried about living in the shelter!! Diane can tell you from experience that I probably won't start packing until September.

Diane, you're stuck with me now - you've posted this invitation on Facebook AND your blog!!!

Joanna - I'm Nancy, and if you're at all close to Weaverville/Asheville, I'd love to meet you!

Love you all...

Joanna - I forgot to add "when I visit my sister in W'ville!"

Diane, I see you're getting ready for a senior citizen by enlarging your font!!!

Umm...Sorry, I was distracted for a moment, thinking about my own mother moving to my town. I think I need a nip-o-that myself now. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother, a lot! We're just in a different place...about 620 mi. different :O

No really, that's awesome! I agree that MomL needs her own blog to chronicle the ensuing adventure.

Love to y'all

Well, Lola Nova, first Diane would have to teach me to create and maintain a blog. Then I would have to trade my digital camera (which won't be still for my pictures) and go back to a plain old camera, the pictures from which I would scan in. I never had trouble with blurry photos until I upgraded to a cheap digital - I need to brace a camera against my eye and forehead! This one doesn't work that way!!!

Arrggghhh.

Oh how I have been giggling as I waited for the comments box to come up... and reading Mom L's comments throughout, I'm thinking she has moved in here already!!! A little excited at the prospect perhaps??

Fabulous news... of course I moved back 500km to be near MY MUM (and Dad etc) so the shoe is on the other foot for me!!!

Good luck all... I shall raise a glass of wine to the success of the move and also toast with Nancy your smoke-free life Diane!! Good woman!

SB - I think it would be fun to have all the In-Laws in Iowa!

I'm sure Mike would move the busn there too!

Uncle G would love it too!

Joyce, We would have to sneak in during the night or The Big D would have their duds packed and gone before this group could get there! And I'd bet there would be no forwarding address either. Right D? Just kidding. I know you love us. G would absolutely never move back to the cold country! I often mention in the middle of the sweltering Savannah summers that we should move to Alaska! Iowa is on the way! Nancy, you better be finding long johns. I know you will enjoy the snow though!

At least if you were all there, we would know where to have the next family reunion! Iowa here we come! Lots of space and no one to disturb!

Diane - what will your orbs says about all these Georgia peaches coming to Iowa?

I think it's wonderful. I (most of the time) love having my mother 1.5 miles away. Now if I could only get my brother out of CA then all would be well!

Joyce and SB - and the younger Ds have all that land on which to have a reunion! Then if we get Diane's side of the family out there, too, wow! We'd have to have T-shirts made! Lola Nova?

D&D, see what you started?

Awesome! Now she can visit my farm too! Woo hoo!! I wish my parents lived closer to me also. :-(

They are 33 hours drive away. :-(

Here is an item for you for those moments when you wonder if you have done the right thing...

Oh, Claire, you kill me! If it weren't so expensive I'd buy it and have it shipped to Diane! That's just like her!

Sigh. Sorry I'll miss the little goat meeting next week, but I can be there for next Spring's crop! Of course, by then you will have rescued/adopted everything from pigs to kangaroos.

I almost posted yesterday, and I was in error for not doing so. But the brown acid I remember, was not in liquid form. Their might be some hope for you all, if Dr. Phil can squeeze you in this season.
