This is a picture of me holding my baby cousin Jennifer 30 something years ago....
I sure hope it's not a sign of my maternal instinct because- well- ummmmmmmmmmmm.......
I know, right?
E.T.A.: 12/6/09..... my Grandma Ruth's Birthday!
Perfect.
I just hope our bun will be as hilarious as these little guys one day.

Congratulations!!! This should provide you and the rest of us with plenty of belly laughs :)
Lucy
Ummmmmm did everyone faint my babys mama?
d
And Grandma L is moving out there to take over! No, no, Big D - I'm just kidding!!! You'll still be King of Orange Ave.
But that does make 3 smoke-free months even more special!
Love all of you!
Yippeeee!
How are the dogs taking it?
Ummmmmm.. Jennifer doesn't appear to be very happy about the situation.
Chicken Little can surely arrive on someones birthday--if not Grandma Ruth's, maybe Big D's, Dec 5. And of course you have a son turning 19 on Dec. 12. Don't forget P & G's anniversary is Nov 30.
I will relax a little after Mom L. gets there to watch over you.
Need I say your lives as you know it have changed forever!
Joyce, try if you can, to keep this as a secret until they send a weekly report to the Diet Bunch in the morning. That of course means don't tell your MOM! She is usually the first to read her email and i will expect a phone call immediately there after!
This makes three new babies in our family. June, Sept and Dec.
I thought big D had a bady right around there, but did not know about grandma...perfect timing! MY oldest id Dec. 11th...it really is a nice time to have a bbay...early enough before Christmas but, all the excitement of Christmas coming, too! I am just SO happy for you! And Proud, too of you for quitting the cigs and stuff and getting your body ready for this BIG adventure! Can't wait to satrt seeing the ultrasound pictures and hearing about all your pregnancy stories and finding out what you are having! This will be a fun ride...I hope!
THat word...bady...was suppose to be bday...as in birthday...oooops.
OK...geez...just ignore the forty type errors...I am too excited, I guess.
I am SO excited for both of you. A couple of days ago, I was looking at your pics of your cousins baby, and wondered if he would look like YOUR baby! Guess it was a premonition.
Please send me the announcement email, my email box was too full and I don't want to miss a minute.
YOu will both be great parents! Congratulations!
The concern for the dogs reminds me of my sister's (Aunt Bonnie) comments after Diane was born. She said until then, Fritz (world's best German Shepherd) was #1 and the family constantly received photos of him - back in the day when you had to make prints and mail them! However, AD (after Diane) all the photos were of the baby. Di - please don't neglect the 3 stooges after the human baby is born! Oh, wait, I'm talking to Diane; that won't happen!
Congratulations! Do we get to name it?
I love the name game! I think we should all send suggestions and if they choose one, that person gets a photo choice. What do you think, D & D? Today I heard two more, Gracen & Griffin. Who wants to be the one to keep the list?
Can you tell I am excited? I certainly know this child will have dark hair and a wonderful sense of humor if "it" takes after "it's" parents. Di has been calling "it" chicken little, which is better than "it". From now on I will be referring to the baby as chicken little until a name is decided on.
Yes if we use your name suggestion you get an 8x10 print of your choice.
:)
Well..it is pretty much a given that Ruth would be used if a girl comes along at this particular date especially...am I wrong?? Middle name?
I am thinking you will come up with every crazy name in the book and then when it comes time write it down on a birth certificate...it will be something quite respectable and well...dare I say traditional and mainstream....but, maybe I am TOTALLY wrong.
Name game will be fun. I had lots of fun with mine! Decided pretty early on that Brock was out for Jackson...you know since our last name is Lee...Brock Lee Hahahaha...
But, honestly we did not have a name for him until the day after he was born. I had told Andrew that he could name him anything he chose just as long as I did not HATE it and well, he couldn't decide until after he saw him and he named him Jackson (in keeping with my other two J named kids) Glenn (one of Andrew's two middle names) Lee and I think he has a perfect name. I love his name!
The name is VERY special.
I love the name Jackson. But it is taken. D & D have a son with two middle names and I always liked that.
Well, in the "Name that Kid" contest, Aunt Bonnie has already submitted Durbin Dodd (after her neighbor's goat!)
Whoa! I miss one day on your blog and you get knocked up?
OMG. Congratulations!!! What exciting news from Iowa. Hope you're feeling tip top and sail through your pregnancy. My son was born on December 2, and he turned out to be a pretty wonderful guy. December babies rock.
Best wishes to you and Darrin.
I"m putting in my Name Game selection early. Daria Rae...of course Rae is for Savannah Belle.
Daria Rae Dodd...and I'm sticking to it at least until tomorrow.
Grace Ann was selected years before she came but we just kept coming back to is. Ann is a family name just like Rae is. And she is our Gift from God.
I love the name Joyce suggested. That is sure gets D's name in there and of course---mine. Daria is a wonderful name. Wish I had thought of it. Wait--we are assuming CL is a girl.
let's see. darrin, diane,& durbin daria dodd? oh no!!!!!!
tammy i'd love to have ruth in the name- but when i think of a teenie baby called ruth i just picture a candy bar. now i'm hungry.
help!
Oh Diane...you so funny! Baby Ruth's grow up to be regal ladies with a special name....
LOL
Go get a candy bar then!
