Fine Print

Pete has a pretty good sense of humor, so it was no surprise to me when he pointed out a news story on our recent "white out" weather conditions.

The caption read, 'It was truly "white-out" conditions last Monday'.
The black and white photo of said "white-out" was pretty much just a blurry gray square on the page....

For some reason the picture of nothing cracked me up to no end, and I seriously thought it was a joke at first. Is it just me having nicotine withdrawals and being loopy?

Well anyway, at least I know what isn't funny- taking the dogs for a ride when it is -14 degrees outside.
Not funny to me!

Or them.

OMG, the look of resignation on my granddog's face! And Banjo is definitely looking back at the house with longing...

chaney-the paper comes out once a week and is so small you can read it in about 5 minutes. it's not the AJC so it doesn't REALLY count towards a finger slide!

Clearly the local paper is quite desperate for a good photographer....wait a second here...isn't that you? ;-)

What's a finger slide?

Thank you, Claire!!! I was too embarassed to ask about the finger slide on this post, so I emailed Diane separately. No answer yet ---probably something lewd that is code between Di and her Atlanta friends!!! I even tried Google, but just get a lot of guitar sites.

Hope Di gives Mom L & Claire an answer to what's a FINGER SLIDE! I am anxious to know what it is but I hate to admit to one more thing I don't know. How could you let yourself be talked into going out at -14? After the AAA incident I thought you would hibernate until spring.

Chaney and I have decided that it is more fun NOT to tell you guys what a finger slide is- we had no idea that it could cause so much blog commotion! keep guessing.

LOL! Welcome to Iowa....maybe you missed my postings about our local paper when you stopped by my blog...yeah, it's not exactly the New York Times. This is the kind of hard hitting news going on in Eldridge:
