Stupid Is As Stupid Does

Seize the day!
It is snowing and beautiful out so D and I decided to go for a Jeep ride in the snow!
Banjo agreed. ...what fun! We are so crazy and spontaneous and fun I just can't stand it.

So we drove around for awhile then decided to drive around our 'backyard' (17 acres) like we did in the summer....only that didn't work out so well for us with the snow and all. We got stuck.

So D walked back to the house to get our truck to get the jeep out. That didn't work out for us either.
Yeah, the truck got stuck too.

So we had to call AAA...... to come tow our 2 vehicles out of our own yard. Seriously?

Yep-seriously.... here is my "are you f-ing kidding me?" self-portrait.

And a shot of D and our savior AAA guy.

D walking back to our vehicles so AAA guy can pull them to the road.

AAA guy saving the truck first.

And well, then he saved the Jeep..... I was freezing and couldn't take any more pictures....but I managed to get a little video clip of the ending. It is almost as funny as my video of Pete home alone walking on the counter...almost but not quite. Anyway, I told Chaney that if we were a TV show, we would be like Sanford & Son/Dukes of Hazzard/Beverly Hillbillies/Northern Exposure all rolled into one delightful Iowan sitcom. I am so proud.
Here ya have it...

OK, now that I have stopped laughing so hard, I had to replay the video for Kelly. He says "They got a JEEP stuck? I didn't think it was possible to get a Jeep stuck. Huh...they must not know how to drive in snow." Sorry, had to say it!

LMBO....you guys completely crack me up. I love it!

BTW, Kelly also said "What's with all those logs on that truck?" but to me they look like pipes. So what's with all the logs/pipes on the truck.

I think you needed leg warmers today.

joanna- yep that is a perfect 'did it'!
claire- oh yeah-we got a JEEP stuck- we have been meaning to get big snow type tires for it....
and tell kelly those are pipes-darrin is a commercial diver (they do underwater bridge inspection/repair/blah blah and other stuff i don't understand) and those are irrigation pipes that they use for drudging- does that make sense? well it doesn't to me but that's what he said...and pps-still trying to find ya'll some old wood tools :)

Ho ho ho ha ha hee hee - I'll be laughing all night! That's funnier than the 8mm film I took of your Dad trying to back our car UP the long driveway in CT after the first snow (and our first snow as former Floridians) in 1965!!! Who needs a treadmill?

No wonder you didn't call me back tonight. Love you!

Now that I've watched the video a dozen times - here and on YouTube - I'm calmer. Now my mind is wandering to the AAA guy's conversation with his buddies: "Wait 'til you hear about the Georgia rednecks I pulled out of the snow yesterday! Two vehicles! In their own backyard!"

This is tooooo funny!! Since I never saw the Dumb & Dumber movie, that would be a good title for this!! Oh well, your choice is a good one. Oh the laugh the AAA guy and his friends must have had! Almost worth the tip. Did the mailman actually see this going on? If so we now know why he is so kind to you rednecks. Now we know exactly why Georgia rednecks are placed 10 miles in the middle of no where when they transplant to Iowa! But at least you are having fun and didn't have too far to walk home. And it is soooo beautiful. Maybe you can ask for a couple more feet of snow. Have you built a snow man yet? I feel certain there will be photos when that happens. At 10 degrees the snow won't pack anyway. Believe it or not when I was laying it bed thinking how cold it is here, 51 this a.m., I was remembering the sub-zero temps with the wind hollowing. I really don't think Darrin remembers that. Just when I think I miss that, something like this comes along to remind me why we are in Savannah!! Love you guys and try not to freeze!! Wish you would wear hats. I will knit stocking caps and send them too you.

perhaps you two should submit this to the iowa state board and say you'll be happy to help draft the immigration test?

By the way, we decided to sign up for Triple A last night after Kelly had to use the tractor to get his truck up our driveway. Great timing eh?

OK next try licking a flag pole. Come on brother did you loose all of your heritage liven down south for all those years. Don't fall for the yellow snow cones either.
